Review: ** Spoilers **'ll start this review by making it clear that the original Robocop film is my personal favorite, and it's because I first saw it 25 years ago. Being myself much trepidation about the direction I went remake (PG-13 Rating especially) I went to a pretty low expectations, but still something I really wanted to open faithfully to launch new reboot success of Robocop franchise. I was pleasantly surprised by the first hour of the film, and how physical transformation was depicted Murphys pretty terrible (there's not much behind it), and the emotional impact on him. I especially liked the first few scenes him form his new Madin and his little meltdown Chinese factory where it was built. Unfortunately, the film is about to take a big nose dive Robocop big public unveiling at the moment. Primer stupidly handy for Detroit PD entire database along with 17 years worth of emergency CCTV Murphy uploaded just minutes before he's about to make his big appearance. This leads to Robocop Murphy burdened require modification is required, it will always robotic and ultimately make the arrest after the murder of his big unveiling. It was clumsily handled plot device made by advancing the plot just defied logic. Why give him a big upload such a crucial moment? Others remarked that there is no real antagonist, and this is very true. Main Criminal Antoine Vallon is absolutely woeful compared Kurtwood Smiths Clarence Boddiker the whistle, and even Michael Keaton does not have candle Ronny Coxs performance of the original. There is also a bit of chemistry between Alex and Clara Murphy, both before and after the transformation. The film is best when it's not trying to ape and nod in the direction of the original. Basil Poledouris music using Majestic Pedro Bromfmans new score is especially jarring and badly managed. When I watched the Man of Steel for about 50 minutes, I realized I had not heard of the classic John Williams Superman theme, but also realized that it was a new take on the Superman Mythos that does not need to borrow some some of its predecessors. Shame, this film does not follow. The effects are generally good, but unfortunately Robocop/ED-209 battle is just typical CGI fest today, and no weight of the original scene. Biggest problem with the film is undoubtedly due to the restrictions, the PG-13 rating. Hearing the arch criminals talk without swearing pulls me out of the film and destroy any sense of realism. In one scene with Murphy approaching the pharmaceutical factory that makes drug bust image shoutout classic original factory came to mind. Unfortunately, this option proves to be the total anti-top almost completely devoid of carnage as required by this scene. It follows that Robocop takes Vallon shootout dream where men shot but blood, death or injury are also given for each light satisfactorily. This clearly indicates that the content is not appropriate classification gritty teenage target audience, etc.. Wire have something to work, if it is aimed at teenage audiences? No No arent particular standout performances against Gary Oldman, who almost always give to any play or film. Kinnaman somewhat wooden in places, but gives a decent enough performance, even if sometimes he seems uncomfortable with the role. One aspect of the film that does nothing for me was Samuel L Jacksons character that opens and closes the film, and offers many one-sided in its views across. If this is the replacement of the original satire can hold. Ham-fisted and give a little more than a commentary on the power of media and uninteresting plot exposition. This tells us something interesting that we do not already know, and Jackson makes his shouty thing jumped, especially cringe worthy in the end. I fully embrace t ... |
