Review: Before I proceed with this study, please note I have not read the book, but I will in the near future :) Note Im also a (straight) man ... not that it matters: PWow what can I say about this movie. From the moment the title sequence started, I was hooked immediately. Scene to scene of this film only managed to suck me into this wonderful world of Hazel Grace Lancaster and Augustus Waters. Shaila chemistry between Woodley and Ansel Elsort amazing and the show is staggering. Honestly, this is the best movie I've seen all year, better than Captain America: Winter Soldier and Godzilla is a big surprise. I think this will be another love story teenie and boy was I wrong. I love this movie and recommend to all people of all ages. Im rambling on and praised the film right now, so I should continue review.The direction and cinematography is breathtaking. Not shots feel odd or out of place. Each shot matched the scene and feel real. Editing is also great as shot after shot match with the characters face and how they (usually good movie editing stuff). Acting is probably one of the best aspects of this film. Seriously it makes both characters feel real and alive, and sometimes I forget this is fiction and not based on a true story. Their performances are so genuine and definitely Oscar-worthy in my opinion. But knowledge of this academy is just another teenie love story that will not be recognized at all. Hopefully I'm wrong, but that's the way it usually is. This is the first movie in years that I have been 10 I do not give 10's light, but it is seriously wrong with this movie. The pacing is perfect, the acting is superb, direction, editing and cinematography is exceptional and overall, this movie is one of the best romantic comedies ever touching the ground. I encourage everyone to go and see this movie no matter how old you are and carry a pack of tissues as well. Youll need it.10/10
